Paula Segal, who is our attorney and also executive director of 596 Acres, has worked for the garden tirelessly and without compensation. Now 596 Acres is running low on money and needs donations. In April, when things get warmer and the daffodils we planted last fall come up (with luck), the garden will throw a fund-raising party to benefit this excellent organization whose mission is to find empty lots on which groups of neighbors can make gardens, as we have. We’ll let you know about the party, but 596’s need is urgent. Please, if you can, make a one-time or a recurring gift by following this link. Have a look around the website; the work they do is very exciting!
